World Bread Day 2009
For the first time since it opened 2 years ago, Rustan’s Supermarket Fresh at Ayala Center Cebu observed the celebration “World Bread Day” last October 16.

World Bread Day is basically just about the appreciation of bread. You may look at it as lame but hey, bread was already a staple food, even during the ancient times.

Baking an assortment of breads of all shapes and sizes (like rosemary bread, sour dough bread and New York deli rye) was Katherine K. Cheng, the master baker and owner of Rustan’s in-store bakeshop, Kate’s.

And since man does not eat bread usually alone, Rustan’s partnered Kate with Jesus F. Escaño Development Corp. (Jedco), the supplier of cold cuts and sausages and other goodies.

Present during the event were people from high society such as the French and Spanish consuls and big names such as Mr. Manuel Alberto, VP, Store Operations, Rustan Supercenters, Inc.,

and Shane Townsend, Assistant Director for South Asia, US Wheat Associates

I’d personally like to thank Mr. Joseph Cabrera for inviting me to the event!
